Outer and Inner Confidence Intervals Based on Extreme Order Statistics in a Proportional Hazard Model
Let Mi and Mi be the maximum and minimum of the ith sample from k independent sample with different sample sizes, respectively. Suppose that the survival distribution function of the ith sample is F ̄i = F ̄αi, where αi is known and positive constant. It is shown that how various exact non-parametric inferential proce- ′ dures can be developed on the basis of Mi’s and Mi ’s for distribution ...
متن کاملA hazard of the pollard endotracheal tube.
Two patients are described in whom failure of the Pollard endotracheal tube produced complete respiratory obstruction. Comparisons are made of external diameters, resistance to gas flow and resistance to compression between Pollard tubes and several conventional tubes. It is concluded that the Pollard tube is not satisfactory for microlaryngoscopy.
متن کاملFrequency of Humidifier and Humidifier Disinfectant Usage in Gyeonggi Provine
OBJECTIVES This study is a cross-sectional study to investigate the frequency of humidifier and humidifier disinfectant usage in the general population. METHODS A questionnaire was applied to 94 subjects (46 male, 48 female) from the general population of Gyeonggi Province. The questionnaire consisted of 3 scales (general characteristics, 5 items about humidifier usage, 5 items about humidifi...
متن کاملImproper Priors Are Not Improper
It is well known that improper priors in Bayesian statistics may lead to proper posterior distributions and useful inference procedures. This motivates us to give an elementary introduction to a theoretical frame for statistics that includes improper priors. Axioms that allow improper priors are given by a relaxed version of Kolmogorov’s formulation of probability theory. The theory of conditio...
متن کاملTube fusion: making connections in branched tubular networks.
Organs like the vertebrate vascular system and the insect tracheal system develop from separate primordia that undergo fusion events to form interconnected tubular networks. Although the correct pattern of tubular connections (anastomoses) in these organs is crucial for their normal function, the cellular and molecular mechanisms that govern tube fusion are only beginning to be understood. The ...
